Scattered between endless gameplay, acoustic and gpu-computed noises, On Machines Of Suspense stretches its narrative across nostalgic enigmatic synths soldered with voices from a pre-AI era and abandoned Martian server rooms that suppress the light rays on the retina. Informed by the essay of Alenda Y. Chang "Playing Nature: Ecology in Video Games", the work employs game mechanics, spatial sound, SFX and VJing techniques to augment generative audio composition, the game environment becomes a soundscape to explore and soundscape gets x-rayed on the screen.
